Entered . Although would have preferred to have had my "doin" from the first race before I comitted but these are filling up fast. Remeber the circuit from 2 years ago - nasty, nasty hill .
Hopefully full with those that "don't get out much" as someone would say |

My race report pretty short as I only did 1 lap - felt crap, and performed accordingly .
Terence was 10th and saw him at the end looking strong, excellent - his story will be longer than mine

Like Paul, for me the start didn’t go well. First 4 miles from Methill to the bottom of the first climb at Lower Largo were neutralised. My legs weren't warmed up and I was at the back of a bunch of 80 riders approaching the climb. On the climb splits opened up pretty fast, I moved to the outside trying to close every gap eventually making it to the front group with 22 riders. For the rest of the first lap I felt like crap and was trying to recover and hang on.
Second time up the climb I was feeling a lot better, there were a coupe of attacks that shed a few more riders but I was able to stay at the front.
On the climb at the back end of the course and with 10 miles to go Martn Ferry moved to the outside and attacked, right I away I thought he'd stay away for the win as no one followed and he was going well. One rider from the Gales tried to bridge the gap but didn't quite make it, he was still strong enough to keep up the chase though. To me it looked like the Martin was holding his gap at around 40 secs & slowly increasing his lead.. I was feeling good so decided to try and make it across the next time the road went up. We hit a small climb and I jumped.. caught the Gale rider and went to the front but soon realised we weren’t making much progress. The bunch quickly brought us back and then worked hard to catch Martin after another couple of miles.
4 Miles to go and basically all downhill meant everyone was focusing on saving their energy for the sprint to the line. Thought after the final turn to the finish that it was flat and forgot about the slight rise and S-bend before the 200 metre straight to the line, really wasn’t expecting to be up there. I just sprinted as hard as I could and ended up with 10th place.
Great days racing on a good course..Thanks to Paul for the lift over and the shouts at the end!
