What a crazy race. Started off neutralised for the first mile, as soon as the flag went down there was a crash, I managed to stay upright but the race was stopped for 10 mins while organisers treated those that were hurt, think one rider had to go off in an ambulance, not good
Race set off again and two riders managed to get about 35 seconds on the bunch and kept that lead for a couple of laps. I had a go to get off the front on lap three but was pulled back pretty quickly. Eventually the two breakaway riders were reeled back in and the bunch was whittled down to about 30 odd riders for the last two laps.
Last time up the climb I moved up the bunch for the descent into Gifford, was about half way down the field going into last corner before the finish but coming out of the bend a rider clipped a car waiting on the other side of the road, bounced back into the path of the bunch and wiped out about 10 riders. I pulled on the brakes, hit a guy on the deck and done a cartwheel with my bike.. I was up and on the bike right away riding to the finish, at first I thought I broke my collarbone but just a neck strain and a few scrapes. Think I got off light compared to others that came down.
Good test for the first race.. Big thanks to Paul for the lift over. Think he had more fun watching us suffer

I didn't see any of the "incidents" but as I was riding clockwise I saw the bunch every twenty minutes so stopped and cheered them on - .
They weren't hanging about and I think the average speed was about 23mph for the 5 circuits. The bunch reduced as the race progressed but Terence was still in there, saw him up at the front a few time - get in there
Pity about the end but think everyone managed to walk away - from the results looks like Terence did his cartwheel, back on the bike and only lost 1min 12 seconds - now that would have been worth seeing

"and done a cartwheel with my bike" You had better watch out Terence as Alex Smith will be suing you for breach of his "Bacardi Flip" Copyright Glad you came out unscathed though.
I see Jack rode the Moscow APR at the weekend and got a mention in the Race report :-
